Get Creative This Half Term – Help Tell the Marlow Donkey Railway Story
This May half term, we’ve teamed up with Buckinghamshire Council and Great Western Railway to run a creative event for children and young people aged 5–16 .
The Marlow Donkey railway has been connecting Marlow, Bourne End and nearby towns for over 150 years — and now it’s your turn to help tell its story.
Come and get involved in fun, hands-on activities where you can explore the past, share your ideas, and be part of creating something new for the community: a brand-new illustrated walking trail inspired by the railway and local stories.
You don’t need any art experience — just bring your imagination.
Our friendly team (and a community artist!) will be there to support you throughout.
What to Expect
- Join a free creative workshop led by a local artist
- Explore the story of the Marlow Donkey railway through art, doodles, chat and imagination
- Help shape a new illustrated walking trail for your community
- Take part in a way that suits you — whether that’s getting hands-on, sharing ideas, or simply seeing what others are creating
- Meet other young people in a relaxed and welcoming space
- This event is free, but advance booking is essential as places are limited.
