Starting secondary school can bring lots of new experiences, new people and new routines.
Audiobook Buddies is a small after-school group for neurodivergent Year 6s. Together, we’ll share a story through books, audiobooks and activities inspired by what we discover along the way.
The group starts before the move to secondary school, continues through the summer and meets again in September, giving young people the chance to be part of the same group before and after the transition.
What happens?
Each young person receives their own copy of the book and audiobook to keep.
Together we’ll:
- Listen to the audiobook
- Follow the story together
- Take part in activities inspired by the book
- Spend time with other young people in a relaxed and supportive environment
There’s no homework, no tests and no pressure to read aloud.
