Successful launch of Q Hub Slough LGBTQ+ Allies Forum

January 2025

We are proud to announce the successful launch of the Q Hub Slough Allies Forum, a new initiative designed to support allies of LGBTQ+ young people in our community. The inaugural event took place on Wednesday 29th January at Plus X Innovation in central Slough, bringing together a diverse group of individuals committed to fostering inclusivity and understanding.

The forum aims to provide a welcoming space for parents, siblings, friends, colleagues and community members who wish to learn how to better support LGBTQ+ youth. Through quarterly meet-ups, participants will have the opportunity to hear from speakers representing established charities, engage with individuals who have lived experience within the LGBTQ+ community, and network with others in similar situations. These sessions will be informative and interactive, offering attendees the chance to ask questions and share experiences.

A highlight of the launch event was a keynote address by Stephanie Fuller, CEO of Switchboard – National LGBTQ+ Support Line. Stephanie delivered a powerful talk on the organisation’s evolution since 1974, discussing the ongoing challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and the importance of continued support and advocacy.

We deeply appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to the event’s success. Your support strengthens our mission, and we look forward to growing this initiative together.
