Brighter Futures Together receives inaugural Bucks Community Fund grant

December 2024

We are thrilled to share that Brighter Futures Together has been awarded £5,000 as the inaugural recipient of the Buckinghamshire Building Society’s Bucks Community Fund grant. This fund was created to support local efforts to enhance the wellbeing of children and young people, focusing on safe spaces, educational support and mental health.

The grant will directly benefit our Young Mental Health Champions peer-education project. This exciting initiative aims to empower young people with the skills and confidence to support their own mental wellbeing and that of their peers.

During a visit to the Buckinghamshire Building Society’s offices in Chalfont St Giles, our Founder and CEO, Janette Fullwood, met with CEO Dan Wass and other key colleagues involved with the fund. Reflecting on the award, Janette said:

“We are over the moon to receive this grant. It will go a long way in supporting our Young Mental Health Champions project and helping us train 50 new champions in 2025. More than just financial support, this grant validates our grassroots approach and the dedication we bring to our work. Thank you all for believing in our mission.”

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Buckinghamshire Building Society and Heart of Bucks for their generous support. Their commitment to community-driven programmes strengthens our ability to create meaningful change.
