Understanding the Teenage Brain

We’ve teamed up with the Marlow Living App as part of their 30 Days to Wellbeing Challenge—encouraging small, positive steps towards better wellbeing each day. Why not make this your challenge for the day?

Adolescence is a time of huge brain development, shaping how young people think, feel and behave. This free, in-person community talk will help you understand what’s happening in the teenage brain and how adults can respond in ways that strengthen relationships and support young people’s wellbeing.

Who is it for?
Parents, grandparents, carers, teachers, youth workers and anyone who lives or works with teenagers (or teenager-to-bes) or who simply wants to better understand and support young people in their lives or community.

What to expect:

  • Understand how the teenage brain develops and why this matters
  • Get practical ideas to support communication and connection
  • Learn how adult responses can impact teen wellbeing

Delivered by Lisa Thompson, Clinical Lead at Brighter Futures Together. Lisa is a qualified Family Therapist with over 25 years’ experience working in NHS CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).

You’ll also get the chance to meet some of the wider Brighter Futures Together team, find out about our local projects and learn how to get involved.

Tea and coffee will be available for a small donation.
