Looking for something fun to do in the holidays?
If you’re aged 10–16, our holiday activity sessions at Marlow Youth and Community Centre are a chance to try new things, get creative and spend time with other young people in a relaxed and welcoming space.
Across the sessions you might be:
- Building and coding robots using LEGO® robotics kits
- Creating your own animations using iPads
- Exploring nature through outdoor adventures and practical projects
- Trying VR, gaming and creative zones with space to chill and hang out
Every session also includes a fresh hot meal that we prepare and eat together, with young people welcome to get involved in the cooking.
Places are available through the Buckinghamshire HAF programme, for home educated young people, and through £15 session places.

Places are available in different ways depending on eligibility.

- which session(s) you’re interested in
- whether your young person receives benefits-related free school meals or is home educated

Brighter Futures Together for ages 10-16 years
Create Your Own Animation
Monday 30 March: 11.30am-3.30pm
👥 Ages 10-16 years old
In this session you’ll create your own short animation using iPads, with guidance from a professional animator who will help you bring your ideas to life.
You don’t need to be good at art or drawing to take part, simple characters and ideas work perfectly, and the focus is on trying things out and having a go.
Across the afternoon young people will move between different activities, often working in smaller groups so everyone gets a chance to take part.
The session includes:
- creating your own animation using iPads
- trying out simple animation techniques with support from a professional animator
- creative challenges and design activities
- preparing and sharing a fresh hot meal together
- mixing drinks at the smoothie station
- making the most of the youth centre space — from pool and table tennis to games, music and social time
LEGO® Robotics Challenge
Tuesday 31 March: 11.30am-3.30pm
👥 Ages 10-16 years old
Love building things? Curious about how robots work?
In this session you’ll build and programme your own robot using LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime kits. These combine colourful LEGO building pieces with simple coding to bring your robot to life.
You don’t need any coding experience to take part — beginners are very welcome, and you’ll learn as you go.
Across the afternoon young people will move between different activities, often working in smaller groups so everyone gets a chance to take part.
The session includes:
- building your own robot using LEGO robotics kits
- trying simple coding to control motors and sensors
- taking on fun robot challenges and testing your designs
- preparing and sharing a fresh hot meal together
- mixing drinks at the smoothie station
- making the most of the youth centre space, from pool and table tennis to games, music and social time.
Wildlife Adventure at Spade Oak
Thursday 9 April: 11.30am-3.30pm
👥 Ages 10-16 years old
Enjoy being outdoors or curious about nature?
In this session we’ll head out together for a visit to Spade Oak Nature Reserve, exploring the lake and surrounding habitats with support from Wild Marlow and local wildlife experts.
It’s a chance to spend time outside, discover more about local wildlife and get involved in practical nature activities.
Across the afternoon young people will move between different activities, often working in smaller groups so everyone gets a chance to take part.
The session includes:
- exploring the nature reserve and spotting birds and wildlife
- taking part in a nature scavenger hunt
- learning about local plants and habitats
- building your own wooden bird box to take home
- making seed bombs and planting seeds to grow at home
- preparing and sharing a fresh hot meal together
- mixing drinks at the smoothie station
- time to relax and enjoy the youth centre space with games and social activities
Friday Night Hangout
Friday 10 April: 4.30pm-8.00pm
👥 Ages 10-16 years old
Looking for something to do on a Friday evening?
Our Friday Night Hangout is a relaxed evening where you can explore different activity zones, try out new things and spend time with other young people in the youth centre.
Across the evening young people can move between different spaces and activities, choosing what they want to get involved in.
The session includes:
- trying out VR headsets and interactive games
- console gaming and friendly challenges
- LEGO building and creative construction activities
- relaxing in the chill space with quieter activities or audiobooks
- making the most of the youth centre space — pool, table tennis and social areas
- preparing and sharing a fresh hot meal together
- mixing drinks at the smoothie station
