Freelance Youth Work Tutor
(Lead or Associate – accredited Level 2 & 3 Youth Work qualifications)
About the role
We’re looking for inspiring youth workers who want to share their passion and experience with others.
Brighter Futures Together is becoming an approved centre to deliver accredited Youth Work qualifications (Levels 2 & 3), starting with the Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles (England).
This is more than a teaching role – it’s about building the future of youth work. You’ll help learners connect real-world practice with the theory and values that make great youth work happen.
We’re offering two flexible freelance opportunities:
Lead Tutor – experienced trainers who can deliver independently, assess portfolios and help shape our curriculum.
Associate Tutor – skilled youth workers stepping into tutoring for the first time, co-delivering while developing their facilitation and assessment experience.
Delivery follows a blended model – a mix of online evening sessions and in-person Saturday workshops around the Thames Valley (mainly Marlow).
This could be a great fit if…
- You hold a professional Youth & Community Work degree (JNC Level 6) or an equivalent qualification recognised for professional youth work practice
- You’ve got at least five years’ youth-work experience, including some leadership.
- You’re confident facilitating learning spaces that are inclusive, engaging and values-led.
- You believe in reflective practice and supporting others to grow in confidence.
- You can travel to in-person delivery venues across the Thames Valley.
- You have (or are happy to get) an Enhanced DBS.
⭐ Bonus if you’ve delivered accredited training before, hold a teaching or assessor qualification, or bring specialist knowledge in areas such as participation, mental health or inclusion.
Pay & What’s Included
We offer a set course fee per cohort, rather than paying by the hour or day.
This keeps things simple, transparent and focused on quality — not clock-watching.
Our current delivery is for the NOCN Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles (England) – an 11-credit qualification with 73 Guided Learning Hours and 110 Total Qualification Time.
Each cohort typically includes around 15 learners, combining online and in-person delivery with directed study tasks.
Course fees:
Lead Tutor – £2,100 per cohort
- Covers all delivery (in-person and online), planning and preparation, learner support, portfolio assessment and feedback, standard admin and moderation.
- Includes travel within the Thames Valley area.
Associate Tutor – £1,250 per cohort
- Covers co-delivery alongside a Lead Tutor, learner support and reflection activities, and light admin (no formal assessment responsibility).
Fees for higher-level qualifications (e.g. Level 2 Certificate or Level 3 Certificate/Diploma) will be set at a higher rate, proportionate to the Guided Learning Hours and assessment requirements, and confirmed in advance for each cohort.
Why join us?
- Be part of a small, supportive team that truly lives youth-work values.
- Receive full course materials, mentoring and Internal Quality Assurer support.
- Flexible freelance role designed to fit around other work.
- All surplus income is reinvested into youth projects that help young people thrive.
