Parent Carer Consultant – (Freelance)
About the role
We’re looking for a local parent or carer with lived experience of supporting a neurodivergent young person to take the lead on family engagement in Slough primary schools.
You’ll deliver two visits per school – one in the autumn term and one in the spring – helping schools hear directly from families and take practical, inclusive steps forward. You’ll also represent the Parent Carer Forum (Special Voices) and help schools build lasting relationships with families.
This freelance role is part of the Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS 2) programme .PINS is supported by the Department for Education (DfE), Department for Health & Social Care (DHSC) and the National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF).
Each appointed consultant will receive a fixed £500 per school, covering up to 15 hours of work — including planning, two school visits, admin, communication, and travel. We may appoint more than one consultant depending on availability and capacity.

- Well-organised, reliable, and able to work independently
- Tech-friendly (able to use email and Calendly)
- Available for weekly in-person check-ins (some in Marlow)
- A driver with access to a car for school visits across Slough
We welcome expressions of interest from those who can support the full number of schools (20-25) or a smaller number – just let us know what’s possible for you.
